The (18-16-2) Winnipeg Jets open a three-game road trip in New York City against the (16-15-3) Rangers.

The Southeast Division leading Jets are four points ahead of Carolina and Washington.

The Rangers are third in the Atlantic Division and are currently holding down the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Neither team skated this morning at Madison Square Gardens.

Ondrej Pavelec is expected to start in goal for the Jets.  He has started 12 of the last 13 games.  During those games, his record is 7-4-1.

Pavelec has allowed four goals in two wins against the Rangers this season which translates to a .935 save percentage.

Mark Stuart, who has missed the last five games due to injury, is a game time decision.  Stuart told TSN 1290 yesterday "I feel ready to play, however now it's up the training staff and Head Coach Claude Noel".

Evander Kane has the best lifetime statistics of Winnipeg players in action tonight against New York.  It 11 games, he has six goals & four assists.

Kane is now second in the NHL with 149 shots on goal.  Washington captain Alex Ovechkin over took him on the weekend and now leads the NHL at 156.

Andrew Ladd, Bryan Little and Blake Wheeler have no points and are a combined minus-7 in their last three games.

New York is coming off back to back 3-0 losses to Ottawa & Montreal.  They have just one win in their last five games.

Henrik Lundqvist has started 9 of the last 10 games in which he has a 3-5-1 record.  Stretching back even further, he has played 15 of the last 17 games.

Brad Richards & Rick Nash have combined for three shots on goal in the last two games.

Marian Gaborik has one goal & one assist in his last 10 games.

Following tonight's game, the Jets bus to Uniondale for tomorrow's game against the New York Islanders (6:00ct on TSN 1290 / TSN Jets).
