CTV delivers all-day coverage of Super Bowl XLVII

TORONTO (January 28, 2013) – CTV culminates its broadcast of the 2012-13 NFL season with exclusive Canadian coverage of Super Bowl XLVII featuring the AFC Champions Baltimore Ravens taking on the NFC Champions San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Feb. 3 (game coverage begins at 6:25 p.m. ET). For the first time ever, free live streaming of the game is available in Canada via CTV.ca.

CTV's extensive coverage of Super Bowl XLVII from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, La. airs live nationally and in High Definition on Sunday, Feb. 3 beginning at 11 a.m. ET, with seven consecutive hours of pre-game programming (visit CTV.ca to confirm local broadcast times).

In addition, RDS has live French-language coverage of Super Bowl XLVII beginning at 5:30 p.m. ET.

Last year's broadcast on CTV and RDS was the most-watched Super Bowl broadcast ever in Canada with a combined television audience of 8.2 million viewers.

Bell Media Radio stations across the country will also have live coverage of Super Bowl XLVII, including TSN Radio 1050 in Toronto, TSN Radio 690 in Montreal, TSN Radio 1290 in Winnipeg, TEAM 1410 in Vancouver, and TEAM 1200 in Ottawa. All stations will be covering all of the Super Bowl news coming out of New Orleans leading up to the game.

CTV gets football fans up-close and personal with the biggest names on the NFL's grandest stage prior to Super Bowl XLVII on Sunday, Feb. 3 with seven consecutive hours of all-encompassing coverage leading up to the most-watched sporting event in North America.  TSN also hits the gridiron on Sunday with a four-hour Super Bowl edition of Sunday NFL Countdown at 10 a.m. ET.

Veteran CBS Sports broadcasters Jim Nantz and Phil Simms call the game action, marking the third time in his illustrious 28-year broadcasting career that Nantz calls play-by-play for the Super Bowl. Simms provides analysis for his seventh Super Bowl, Nantz and Simms are joined on the broadcast by analysts Steve Tasker and Solomon Wilcots serving as sideline reporters.

TSN at Super Bowl XLVII

TSN gets Canadian football fans set for Super Bowl XLVII with daily reports on SportsCentre beginning Monday, as Rod Smith helms coverage on-site from New Orleans alongside analysts Chris Schultz, Jesse Palmer, and TSN Football Insider Dave Naylor. Also beginning today, SportsCentre will feature Super Bowl-themed Top 10 countdowns leading up to Super Bowl XLVII. TSN will also get fans set for the big game with TOP 50 NFL Plays of 2012-13 on Saturday, February 2 at 7 p.m. ET.

Super Bowl Sunday broadcast schedule is as follows (subject to change):

• 10 a.m. ET – Sunday NFL Countdown (TSN)
Chris Berman hosts the four-hour Super Bowl edition of Countdown from New Orleans with analysts Tedy Bruschi, Cris Carter, Trent Dilfer, Mike Ditka, Tom Jackson, Ron Jaworski, Keyshawn Johnson and Jerry Rice. Mike Tirico, Jon Gruden and Young will join the show from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and NFL Insiders Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter will also contribute reports.

• 11 a.m. ET – Road To The Super Bowl (CTV)
Road To The Super Bowl is NFL Films' annual look back at the greatest sights and sounds of the 2012-13 NFL season. The one-hour special features the best of nearly 100 players and coaches wired for sound, focusing on the most exciting moments and the best teams on the journey to New Orleans for Super Bowl XLVII.

• Noon ET –  Road To The Playoffs (CTV)
An inside look at the past season and how each team made it to the playoffs.

• 1 p.m. ET – SportsCentre's Top 10 Super Bowl Moments (CTV)
The original TSN production features SportsCentre's Darren Dutchyshen counting down the Top 10 moments in Super Bowl history.

• 1:30 p.m. ET –  Top 50 NFL Plays of 2012-13 (CTV)
SportsCentre's Darren Dutchyshen looks back at Top 50 plays of the 2012-13 NFL season during this 30-minute original TSN production.

• 2 p.m. ET – The Super Bowl Today (CTV)
Originating live from three separate sites in New Orleans, CBS' James Brown, Dan Marino, Boomer Esiason, Shannon Sharpe, and Bill Cowher, along with Greg Gumbel, anchor the pre-game show previewing all the football and excitement leading up to Super Bowl XLVII. NFL Insider Jason La Canfora, reporters Lesley Visser, Steve Tasker, and Solomon Wilcots, will also cover the pre-game activities.

• 6 p.m. ET – Super Bowl XLVII Kickoff Show (CTV/RDS)
Fourteen-time Grammy® Award-winning singer-songwriter Alicia Keys sings the National Anthem as part of Super Bowl XLVII pre-game festivities.

• 6:25 p.m. ET – Super Bowl XLVII (CTV/RDS)
Super Bowl XLVII kickoff featuring the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers live from New Orleans. Sponsored by Labatt Breweries of Canada, General Motors of Canada, Nissan Canada, Ford of Canada, and PepsiCo, the game also features international music icon and 16-time Grammy® Award winner Beyoncé as she performs during the Pepsi Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show.
