A veteran of more than 650 NHL games, Mike Johnson joins the newly created TSN Jets channel as a hockey analyst for Winnipeg Jets games. Johnson has been working on hockey broadcasts at TSN for the past three years, including as the main analyst for TSN's coverage of the IIHF World Championship. He has also served as an NHL on TSN studio analyst.

Johnson brings considerable hockey knowledge to the NHL on TSN broadcasts and is also a frequent contributor to That's Hockey on TSN.

Johnson's NHL career began when he signed as a free agent with the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 1996-97 season. In his first full season with the Leafs, Johnson scored 15 goals and 32 assists to earn himself a tie for the league lead for scoring among rookies and was named to the NHL All-Rookie Team. He followed that with the first 20-goal season of his career. Known for his offensive flair, Johnson went on to play for the Tampa Bay Lightning, Phoenix Coyotes, Montreal Canadiens and St. Louis Blues amassing career totals of 129 goals, 246 assists for 375 points in 661 games. Johnson was named to Team Canada for the 2000 IIHF World Championship in St. Petersburg, Russia, where he chipped in a goal and an assist in nine games.

A native of Scarborough, ON, Johnson played collegiate hockey at Bowling Green State University where he scored 162 points in 143 games while also earning first-team CCHA all-academic honours.
