The Calgary Flames have traded forward Lee Stempniak to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Stempniak is in the final year of the two-year, $5 million contract he signed prior to the 2012-2013 season.
In 52 games with the Flames this season, Stempniak has eight goals and 15 assists.
The 30-year-old right winger was selected in the fifth round (148th overall) by the St. Louis Blues at the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
Stempniak was acquired by the Flames from the Phoenix Coyotes prior to the 2011-2012 season. He has played 616 career NHL games for the Blues, Flames, Toronto Maple Leafs and Phoenix Coyotes, scoring 146 goals and 184 assists.
