Buffalo Sabres captain Jason Pominville has been asked to submit a list of eight teams to which he will not accept a trade.
He is expected to hand over the list to Sabres general manager Darcy Regier some time Monday night or Tuesday morning.
Pominville has a modified no-trade clause that blocks movement to eight teams.
Regier had reportedly told Pominville that with the team's current situation - 13th in the Eastern Conference and last in the Northeast Division - he needs to see what is available via trade before Wednesday's NHL trade deadline. According to RDS Renaud Lavoie, Regier said it's the only way for him to have discussions with other general managers.
The 30-year-old right winger is coming off a 30-goal season in 2011-12 and has missed just nine games in the last seven years. This season, he's recorded 10 goals and 13 assists through 36 games.
Pominville has one year remaining on his five-year, $26.5 million contract after this season with a cap hit of $5.3 million.
