TORONTO - Dmitrij Jaskin and Chris Porter scored for the Chicago Wolves as they edged the Toronto Marlies 2-1 in American Hockey League action Saturday afternoon.

Chicago (21-15-4) earned just its second regulation win in five games but improved to 17-0-2 this season when leading to start the third period.

T.J. Brennan had the lone goal for Toronto (21-12-4).

Jaskin opened the scoring at 10:11 of the first period. He beat Marlies goalie Garret Sparks with a shot from the top of the circle for his 11th goal of the season.

Brennan tied it for Toronto at 18:14 on the power play for team-leading 18th goal of the season.

Porter countered on the power play at 10:42 of the second. He put the Wolves ahead after redirecting a Taylor Chorney shot past Sparks for his fourth of the season.

Toronto had a great chance to tie at 12:44 of the third. Newcomer Brandon Kozun had a partial breakaway but was stopped by Jake Allen.

Allen stopped 28 shots for his 17th win of the season as the Wolves evened the season series. Toronto won the other meeting, registering a 3-2 overtime decision Jan. 17 in Chicago.

Sparks made 28 saves for his fifth loss.

Toronto headed into Saturday's game having ended a season-high seven-road trip with a 5-1-1 record that included a 2-0 victory in Hamilton on Friday night.

The Marlies will play their third game in as many nights Sunday when they host the Lake Erie Monsters.

NOTES — Mark Cundari made his Wolves debut after being acquired from the Abbotsford Heat on Thursday in a deal for Corey Locke. Adam Cracknell also played his first game for the Wolves this season after being assigned by the St. Louis Blues on Thursday.
