The Toronto Raptors have reportedly received an offer for one of their best players.
ESPN's Brian Windhorst is reporting the Detroit Pistons have offered the expiring contracts of guard Rodney Stuckey and forward Charlie Villanueva to the Raptors for forward Rudy Gay.
Gay has two years and $37 million left on his current contract and was acquired by the Raptors from the Memphis Grizzlies in January, as part of a three team deal, for forward Ed Davis, guard Jose Calderon and backup centre Hamed Haddadi.
The 26-year-old played in 33 games with the Raptors during the 2012-13 season and averaged 19.5 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists.
Prior to the trade, he also appeared in 42 games for the Grizzlies in 2012/13 and averaged 17.2 points.
The seven-year veteran made his debut during the 2006-07 season and spent his entire career in Memphis before being dealt to the Raptors.
