Toronto's Sharon Fichman opened with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Andrea Gamiz before Eugenie Bouchard of Westmount, Que., defeated Adriana Perez 6-1, 6-4.

Ottawa's Gabriela Dabrowski and Stephanie Dubois of Laval, Que., then completed the sweep with a dominant 6-0, 6-1 doubles decision over Carmen Blanco and Gabriela De Santis.

Canada takes on Colombia on Friday for top spot in Pool A. The winner will face the champion of Pool B -- which features Paraguay, Brazil, Chile and Mexico -- to determine who advances to the World Group 2 playoffs in April.
