Volleyball Canada president appointed to FIVB board

OTTAWA -- Hugh Wong of Kelowna, B.C., the president of Volleyball Canada, was recently appointed to the international volleyball federation's (FIVB) board of administration.

Wong has been Volleyball Canada's president since being elected in 2007, after serving on the Board of Directors from 1997-2005. Previous to that he was BC Volleyball president from 1990-93.

"Volleyball Canada would like to congratulate Hugh on becoming a member of the FIVB Board of Administration," said Mark Eckert, Volleyball Canada's executive director. "His efforts continue to benefit both the International and Canadian Volleyball Community"

In addition to his role in Canada, Wong is a vice-president and executive committee member of the NORCECA (North and Central America and Caribbean) Confederation.
