Subban to start in net when Canada faces Germany at WJHC

Malcolm Subban will get the call in goal when Canada takes on Germany in their opening game at the World Junior Hockey Championship on Wednesday.

Catch the game live on TSN and TSN.ca at 4am et/1am pt. The game will be repeated on TSN, Wednesday at Noon et/9am pt and again at 7:30pm et/4:30pm pt.

The Boston Bruins prospect, who is the younger brother of Montreal Canadiens defenceman P.K. Subban, has a 15-7-3 record, 2.17 goals-against average and .932 save percentage with Belleville this season.

Subban made 19 saves in a 3-2 exhibition loss to Finland last Thursday.

Owen Sound Attack netminder Jordan Binnington will be the backup, while Jake Paterson of the Saginaw Spirit is the team's alternate goaltender.

Round 1 wraps up with Patrick Kane of the Blackhawks facing the Bruins' Zdeno Chara.
