MADRID, Spain -- Spain coach Vicente del Bosque has signed a two-year contract extension that will see him lead the world champions through the next European Championship.

Del Bosque says he "renewed until 2016," when Spain will be try to win a third straight continental title.

The 62-year-old Del Bosque replaced Luis Aragones following Spain's Euro 2008 triumph and then won the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012.

Spain has only lost six times in 82 matches under the former Real Madrid coach, with 67 victories.
