BARCELONA, Spain -- Barcelona says Xavi Hernandez's nagging hamstring injury will rule him out of Saturday's Spanish league game at Celta Vigo.

The Spanish leader says Xavi's progress will determine his return.

Barcelona visits Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday in the opening leg of their Champions League quarterfinal.

Xavi has been on and off the injured list in recent weeks with the same injury to his right leg.

After sitting out Spain's 1-1 draw with Finland on Friday, he helped the world champions beat France 1-0 on Tuesday to claim the lead in their qualifying group for the 2014 World Cup.
