Canadian international Bernier has successful knee surgery

MONTREAL -- Canadian international midfielder Patrice Bernier has undergone successful knee surgery.

The Montreal Impact said the surgical procedure involved the removal of debris from his right knee. Expected recovery time is four to six weeks.

The injury hampered the 34-year-old from Brossard, Que., for several weeks at the end of this season.
