NEW YORK -- Los Angeles Galaxy coach Bruce Arena has been suspended for one game after going on the field during last Sunday's match against the Portland Timbers.

Galaxy forward Robbie Keane appeared to score the equalizer early in stoppage time but he was called offsides. Both Keane and Landon Donovan had an animated argument with officials while Arena shouted from the sidelines. Arena also confronted the referees on the field after the match, which the Timbers won 1-0.

The MLS Disciplinary Committee determined Arena left his technical area and entered the field of play, which results in an automatic one-game suspension under league policy.

Arena will miss the Galaxy's match Sunday against Chivas USA.
