NEW YORK -- Montreal midfielder Sanna Nyassi has been suspended one game and fined by Major League Soccer for faking contact that led to a draw for the Impact.

The MLS disciplinary committee determined Nyassi feigned being taken down in the box that led to Patrice Bernier's penalty kick in the 80th minute in a 1-1 tie with Chivas USA last Sunday.

Nyassi, who unsuccessfully appealed the decision, was to serve the suspension Saturday when the Impact played Red Bulls in New York.

Chivas USA defender Mario De Luna appeared to take down Nyassi in the penalty area, but the disciplinary committee unanimously determined that Nyassi collapsed before the challenge.
