MONTREAL - Marco Di Vaio scored the lone goal in the 14th minute as the Montreal Impact remained unbeaten after four games of the Major League Soccer season with a 1-0 victory over the New York Red Bulls on Saturday.

Troy Perkins sent a long ball up the middle that was headed down to Patrice Bernier. The playmaker slipped a pass through the New York defence to Di Vaio, who beat Robles to the left side for his second goal of the season.

New York finished the match short a man after defender Brandon Barklage was sent off for taking down Patrice Bernier at the edge of the penalty area in the 74th minute.

Warren Creavalle and Giles Barnes scored 6 minutes apart in the second half at Houston as the Dynamo edged the Vancouver Whitecaps 2-1.

The win helped the Dynamo extend their home unbeaten streak to 27 games, dating to July 2011. Houston has never lost at its new home, BBVA Compass Stadium.

Darren Mattocks scored in the 36th minute for the Whitecaps.

Dallas midfielder Jackson scored a second-half goal and set up another in a 2-0 home win over Real Salt Lake.

In the 71st minute, Jackson helped give FC Dallas the lead with a volley over the head of Salt Lake's Lovel Palmer. Fabian Castillo gathered the pass outside the penalty area before dribbling around Palmer and firing a shot from about 15 yards.

Jackson scored in the 81st minute after he stole the ball from goalkeeper Josh Saunders outside of the goalie's box and tapped a shot into the centre of the net.

At Carson, California, Mike Magee converted a penalty 5 minutes into the second half as the Los Angeles Galaxy beat the Rapids 1-0 to take the Western Conference lead.

The Galaxy were playing without striker Robbie Keane and defender Omar Gonzalez, both off on international duty.

In other matches, the San Jose Earthquakes beat the Seattle Sounders 1-0, the Columbus Crew edged D.C. United 2-1 and Sporting Kansas played out a 0-0 draw with the New England Revolution.
