PRAGUE, Czech Republic -- Canada's Catherine Roberge continued her overseas tour with a victory at the Judo European Open on Sunday.

The Quebec City native defeated Russia's Anastasia Dmitrieva by ippon to claim gold in the under-78 kilogram class.

"I'm really happy with my performance today, and it definitely puts an exclamation point on my European tour," Roberge said. "The fact that I was able to score points with different techniques is what's most satisfying for me. I stuck to my game plan and managed to commit fewer errors than my opponents."

Roberge reached the final by dispatching Kazakh Albina Amangeldiyeva by ippon before taking down Martine Denkes of the Netherlands by waza-ari.

Roberge defeated Frenchwoman Geraldine Mentouopou by ippon in the semis. Mentouopou, along with Hungary's Abigel Joo, claimed bronze medals.
