Saskatoon's Trey Lyles had 17 points and 16 rebounds on Saturday as Canada beat Puerto Rico 77-51 to open their FIBA Americas under-18 championship tournament.
Canada went on an 18-3 run to finish the first quarter with a 24-10 lead.
Canada continued to play well into the second quarter as they extended their lead to 26 points and took a 43-17 lead at the half.
The two teams played a fairly even third quarter as Canada scored 20 points to Puerto Rico's 15.
Canada went into the fourth quarter with a comfortable 63-32 lead.
The Canadian junior men's team will next play Columbia on Sunday.
