Hockey Canada plans to unveil its new jersey for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games next month after a photo of the design was reportedly leaked on Friday.

"Hockey Canada will unveil and launch the jerseys that it's men's, women's and sledge hockey teams will wear at the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Sochi on October 8," a spokesperson told TSN on Friday. "We look forward to telling the story and innovation behind the jerseys at that time."

A photo of Chicago Blackhawks forward Jonathan Toews wearing what appeared to be the new red and white jersey was posted on the website of photo provider Getty Images on Thursday.

The photo, which has since been removed, was taken during the NHL's Player Media Tour on Thursday in Newark, New Jersey.
