The Los Angeles Kings agreed to terms on a four-year, $10 million contract with defenceman Matt Greene on Tuesday.

Greene was slated to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

In only 38 games with the Los Angeles Kings in 2013-2014 the 31-year-old Greene scored two goals and added four assists with a plus-6 rating. He missed a considerable amount of time last year with a concussion suffered in January.

The American is coming off the final year of a five-year contract worth an average annual value of $2.950 million. He won a Stanley Cup with the Kings in 2012.

In 504 career games with the Kings and Edmonton Oilers, Greene has 13 goals and 56 assists for 69 points. He was originally selected in the second round (44th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft by the Oilers.
