The Winnipeg Jets can expect to be without the services of goaltender Ondrej Pavelec for at least the next two games.

Jets head coach Paul Maurice made the announcement Saturday following the morning skate and confirmed Al Montoya will start in goal against the Dallas Stars on Sunday.

Pavelec suffered a lower-body injury after the first period of their 4-2 loss to the New York Rangers Friday night. Montoya stopped 13 of 15 shots he faced in Pavelec's place and took the loss.

The Jets also lost forward Chris Thorburn to a lower-body injury early in the second period after he blocked a shot by Rangers defenceman Kevin Klein.

The Jets will call up netminder Michael Hutchinson from the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League to backup Montoya.

The 24-year-old Hutchinson is a third round pick (77th overall) of the Boston Bruins in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
