Patrick Kaleta has decided not to appeal his suspension to an independent arbitrator.
The Buffalo Sabres forward was suspended 10 games for his actions in a game against Columbus on October 10 before appealing the ruling to NHL commissioner Gary Bettman. Bettman upheld the suspension last week leaving Kaleta one last avenue – an appeal to an independent arbitrator.
Kaleta will instead just serve the rest of his suspension; he has already served eight of the 10 games. The 26-year-old is eligible to return Nov. 2 against the Anaheim Ducks.
