Canadiens forward George Parros in recovering quickly, as Montreal general manager Marc Bergevin told The Montreal Gazette on Wednesday that Parros - who was concussed after falling face first to the ice during a fight with Toronto's Colton Orr last Tuesday - is, "almost symptom-free."
The Gazette added that Bergevin and the Canadiens are in no hurry to get him back into the lineup because of the delicate nature of concussion recovery.
Parros was knocked unconscious after his tussle with Orr - their second fight of the opening game for both teams. Parros spent several minutes motionless on the ice, attended to by the teams' medical staffs, before being taken off on a stretcher. After he was released from hospital, the Canadiens announced that he was indefinitely.
Parros joined Montreal this summer after one season with the Florida Panthers.
