Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist and the New York Rangers have begun discussions a new contract, according to Newsday.
"We're talking," Lundqvist told the newspaper on Monday. "The good thing, though, is that we have another year so there's no pressure to get it done.
"But we're definitely talking, and we'll see where it leads. So far it's been a great time in New York and I don't see any reasons to leave."
Lundqvist, 31, has one year remaining on a six-year, $41.25 million contract.
Last season, he had a 24-16-3 record with a 2.05 goals-against average and .926 save percentage.
