The Montreal Canadiens have avoided salary arbitration with forward Ryan White, agreeing to a one-year, $700,000 deal.

The 25-year-old had one goal and no assists in 26 games played with the Canadiens last season.

The Brandon, Manitoba native was drafted by the Canadiens in the third round of the 2006 NHL Draft.
