The Edmonton Oilers agreed to terms on a one-year contract with forward Ryan Jones on Saturday.
The unrestricted free agent will return to Edmonton for a fourth season.
Writing on his Twitter account, Jones said, "Excited to get to wear the Oil drop for another year. Hoping to prove the doubters wrong and help this team return to the "glory days!"
The 29-year-old was limited to 27 games with the Oilers last year after he missed 16 games with an eye injury. He has two goals and five assists.
Jones came to the Oilers off waivers from the Nashville Predators late in the 2009-10 season. In 282 NHL contests, Jones has 52 goals and 42 assists.
He had a breakout season in 2010-11 when he counted 17 goals and 16 assists in 79 games.
Jones was a fourth-round draft pick of the Minnesota Wild in 2004.
