Spurgeon inks new three-year deal with Wild

St. Paul, MN (Sports Network) - The Minnesota Wild locked up a young member of the defense corps, re-signing Jared Spurgeon to a three-year contract.

Spurgeon, 23, netted a career-high five goals to go along with 10 assists in 39 games last season.

The Alberta native has collected 12 goals and 50 points in 162 career games with the Wild.
