The Ottawa Senators are heading to the post-season, and the Winnipeg Jets are heading home.

The Senators defeated the Washington Capitals 2-1 in overtime, which mathematically eliminates the Winnipeg Jets who are still playing the Montreal Canadiens.

Sergei Gonchar scored 47 seconds into overtime on a power play to send the Senators to the post-season with 54 points. Winnipeg has 51 points and can only reach 53 in their regular season finale tonight.
