The Roberto Luongo watch continues, as Canucks general manager Mike Gillis told TSN on Monday that trade talks are continuing regarding the availability of the veteran netminder.

"We're talking to four teams with varying levels of activity and various proposals," Gillis told TSN's James Duthie.

Gillis's remarks came a day after Canucks assistant GM Laurence Gilman told TSN's Farhan Lalji that talks are "beyond the tire kicking stage" for Luongo.

However, Gillis added Monday that, "it might not be the right time" to trade him and suggested that it would be easier in the summer.

Going into Monday's game against the Sharks, the Canucks were fourth in the Western Conference with 44 points - the same number as division-leading Minnesota.

With the Northwest Division title still in their sights and an eight-point cushion on ninth place in the conference, the team is looking to add and not subtract going into Wednesday's trade deadline.

"I can't tell you what other teams are doing," head coach Alain Vigneault told reporters on Monday. "I can tell you we're not sellers."

Luongo, 33, has a 7-4-3 record this season with a 2.44 goals-against average and a .904 save percentage.

He has nine years remaining after this season on a 12-year deal he signed with the Canucks prior to the 2010-11 season. His contract carries an average annual value of $5.333 million.
