The Montreal Canadiens look to rebound against the Buffalo Sabres tonight after losing 3-2 in overtime to the same team on Tuesday.

The focus for tonight's game will be to have a strong start; something they did not do last time they faced the Sabres. Buffalo took a 2-0 lead after the opening period but the Habs were able to tie the game late in the third period to push it to overtime. The key to beating the Sabres is to repeat the way they played in the third period for the full 60 minutes, according to Habs defenceman Josh Gorges.

The Canadiens have claimed Jeff Halpern off waivers from the New York Rangers early this afternoon. Halpern, who last played for the Habs in the 2010-2011 season, will not make it to Montreal for tonight's game.

One small lineup change; Ryan White is out with a lower-body injury. Michael Blunden, called up yesterday from Hamilton, will be replacing White on the fourth line.

Lines from the morning skate:

Ryder - Plekanec - Gionta
Pacioretty - Desharnais - Gallagher
Galchenyuk - Eller - Armstrong
Moen - Dumont - Blunden
