Sabres forward Thomas Vanek is expect to return to Buffalo's lineup Saturday night when the club visits the Montreal Canadiens, according to the Buffalo News.

Following Friday's morning skate, Sabres coach Ron Rolston said Vanek was still sore from being hit with a shot in the second period of Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win against the Canadiens.

Vanek missed Thursday's 5-4 shootout win over the Toronto Maple Leafs with a lower-body injury.

The 29-year-old Vanek leads the Sabres in scoring with 14 goals and 17 assists in 27 games.
