While there has been a great deal of speculation about Phil Kessel's future with the Toronto Maple Leafs among some members of the media and fans of the team, Kessel's agent Wade Arnott doesn't have much to say about it.
According to the Globe and Mail, Arnott was asked if there was a chance that Kessel would re-sign with the Leafs before becoming a free agent after next season.
"The season is just 11 games old," Arnott told the Globe's James Mirtle. "I know Phil is only focusing on the next game. We'll see what the off-season brings, but I know he enjoys playing for the Leafs and living in a hockey market."
Last week, TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger said that teams had approached Toronto about a deal for Kessel. The Leafs were listening to offers but were not actively looking to deal the 25-year-old.
Kessel, who scored his first goal of the season on Thursday, has one goal and six assists in 11 games this season. He's scored 30 goals or more in each of the last four seasons.
