Saints ink veteran WR Crayton to bolster receiving depth

Metairie, LA (Sports Network) - The New Orleans Saints signed wide receiver Patrick Crayton on Monday.

The 34-year-old Crayton last played in the NFL in 2011, his second and final season with the San Diego Chargers. He spent the first six years of his career with the Dallas Cowboys.

Crayton has caught 247 passes for 3,650 yards and 25 touchdowns in 105 games.

The Saints waived wide receiver Brent Leonard to open a roster spot.
