USC's Shaw admits drowning story was a fabrication

Southern California's football program released a statement on Wednesday evening indicating that cornerback Josh Shaw admitting to his team that he had falsified the circumstances surrounding his ankle injury. Shaw told coaches that he did not hurt himself saving his drowning nephew from a pool as he claimed and that the events he described in Palmdale, California never actually occurred. Paying The Price

North Carolina coach Larry Fedora said Wednesday the team has suspended four players for this weekend's season opener, a day after a report of an alleged hazing altercation that left a redshirt freshman walk-on receiver with a possible concussion. Fedora said the four players were suspended for a "violation of team policy," but offered no other details about what rules were broken. Full Story.

Devastating Blow

Ohio State will update the status of Braxton Miller on Tuesday following a report that the star quarterback reinjured his throwing shoulder during practice. The school had refused to comment on The Columbus Dispatch report but cancelled scheduled interviews Tuesday for the fifth-ranked Buckeyes. School spokesman Jerry Emig did not say if Miller had medical tests or confirm Miller was hurt. Full Story.
