Texas coach Charlie Strong says quarterback David Ash is giving up football after struggling with the effects of multiple concussions. Ash missed most of last season because of at least one concussion and lingering symptoms. He had been cleared to return this season and played in Texas' opening victory over North Texas. Full Story.

Jameis Winston has been benched for the first half of Saturday's game against Clemson after making "offensive and vulgar" comments about women and Florida State officials say that the quarterback will undergo internal discipline. The decision was announced Wednesday in a joint statement by Florida State interim President Dr. Garnett S. Stokes and athletic director Stan Wilcox. Full Story.
