TORONTO - You can never have too much depth and toughness in the NBA, something Dwane Casey has stressed throughout his tenure in Toronto.

The Raptors and their hard-nosed head coach will welcome the addition of another high-energy piece to compliment the team's already spirited frontcourt rotation.

Toronto has agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent forward Tyler Hansbrough on a two-year deal worth part of the Raptors' mid-level exception, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. Exact financial terms are not known.

The Raptors' interest in Hansbrough was first reported by ESPN on Twitter Tuesday evening.

Hansbrough, 27, has spent his entire four-year NBA career in Indiana, averaging 8.9 points and 4.7 rebounds as a key reserve for the Pacers. The energetic forward was selected 13th overall by Indiana in the 2009 NBA draft fresh off winning an NCAA championship as a senior at North Carolina.

The Pacers rescinded their qualifying offer to Hansbrough last week, making him an unrestricted free agent. A live wire, Hansbrough will give the Raptors added depth to a frontcourt rotation that already features prized sophomore Jonas Valanciunas, the undervalued Amir Johnson and reserve forward Quincy Acy.

The deal can and is expected to be announced on Wednesday, when teams can officially agree to terms with free agents.
