Eugenie Bouchard and Milos Raonic are both going home next week, and both have drawn high seeds for the Rogers Cup.
Bouchard, of Westmount, Quebec, will play in front of Montreal fans as the sixth seed. Raonic, of Thornhill, Ont., returns to Toronto as the seventh seed on the men's side.
As top-eight players, both will receive byes into the second round of play.
Both Bouchard and Raonic have been taking time off since strong performances at Wimbledon earlier this month. Bouchard was a finalist and Raonic a semifinalist in England, with both achieving career-best finishes at a grand slam event.
World No. 1 players Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic will also be the top seeds in Canada. Also ranked ahead of Bouchard are Na Li at No. 2, followed by Petra Kvitova, Agnieszka Radwanska, and Maria Sharapova.
After Djokovic are No. 2 Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Stan Wawrinka, Tomas Berdych, and David Ferrer.
The Rogers Cup begins Saturday in both cities. The events serve as part of the hardcourt season that culminates with the US Open in Flushing, New York beginning Aug. 25.
