Anwar Stewart is returning to the Montreal Alouettes.
The team announced on Tuesday that the 37-year-old defensive end has been signed to the Alouettes practice roster.
Stewart made eight Grey Cup appearances with the Als from 2002 to 2011 and won three championships. The University of Kentucky product is a two-time CFL All-Star and was named Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 2004. He spent last year with the Stampeders and made another Grey Cup appearance.
The team also announced that import defensive end Eze Obriato has been signed to the practice roster after spending the pre-season with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
The Alouettes travel to Saskatchewan on Saturday to take on the Roughriders.
