With the NHL Trade Deadline less than three weeks away, teams are making decisions on whether to buy or sell. Check out today's trade rumours and speculation from around the NHL beat, and follow TSN.ca each day until Deadline Day for all the updates.

A Fresh Coat of Paint

TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun of ESPN writes that the San Jose Sharks have never quite got the kind of credit it deserves for having produced a contender year in and year out for so long.

They've had to use many low draft picks to produce players, which they have. And GM Doug Wilson has been bold on both the trade and free-agent market when he's had to be, reeling in the likes of Joe Thornton, Dan Boyle, Brent Burns and Antti Niemi over the years.

But all good teams need a reset, and that moment is coming for this Sharks club. They need something. And that something is coming, whether it's one or two moves before the April 3 trade deadline or more moves in the offseason.

Nothing Imminent for Iggy

Randy Sportak of the Calgary Sun says that the Jarome Iginla trade rumours will continue to grow louder and louder as the trade deadline approaches. He says that it doesn't appear that the team will make any moves within the next week as they leave Calgary for a crucial road trip.

Sportak suggests that the rumours surrounding Iginla, and some of the team's other talked about trade targets like Miikka Kiprusoff and Jay Bouwmeester, may turn into something more substantial should the Flames lose more than a couple of their upcoming games though.

Leafs Look to Avoid the Late-Season Swoon

If their current five-game winless skid stretches much further, it could prompt the Toronto Maple Leafs to make a trade in order to avoid another late-season tumble down the standings says Mark Zwolinski of the Toronto Star.

Zwolinski reports that Toronto would like to add a centre and a top-four defenceman to their roster. One name he mentions as a potential for the Leafs is veteran centre Mike Ribeiro.

Should He Play Or Should He Go?

Gary Lawless of the Winnipeg Free Press says the Jets needs to either put Alexander Burmistrov back into the lineup and give him some playing time or consider trading him.

Burmistrov has been a healthy scratch for the Jets' last four games. Lawless says coach Claude Noel has made his point to Burmistrov and the team needs his presence on the penalty kill.

Sign or Trade?

USA Today's Kevin Allen takes a look at 10 pending free agents and weighs in on wheter or not they should be re-signed by their current team of used as trade chips.

Among the players he thinks shoudl be moved are Jarome Iginla and Brenden Morrow while Valtteri Filpula and David Clarkson are players he thinks it would be wise to re-sign.

Islanders not Selling

According to Arthur Staple of Newsday, the Islanders, currently sitting ninth in the East and just two points out of a playoff spot, show no signs of being trade deadline sellers.

The team has begun contract talks with captain Mark Streit and will soon begin talks with both Evgeni Nabokov and Lubomir Visnovsky. All three have contracts that expire at the end of the season. Staple also reports that the Islanders would like to re-sign pending free agent forward Brad Boyes.
