The Atlanta Braves have avoided arbitration with Brandon Beachy.

Beachy and the Braves agreed to a one-year deal on Monday, successfully avoiding arbitration with the 27-year-old.

The righty underwent Tommy John surgery in June 2012 and returned to make five starts in 2013, going 2-1 with a 4.50 earned-run average.

One of the Major League's premier strikeout pitchers, Beachy has fanned 275 batters in 267.2 combined innings over the past four seasons.

Beachy has a 14-11 career record in 46 starts with the Braves.
