DENVER - Rockies star Carlos Gonzalez left Thursday's game with a bruised left foot after getting hit by a foul ball while on deck in the first inning.

Gonzalez was struck near the ankle by Jordan Pacheco's foul liner. A team trainer attended to Gonzalez, and the left fielder exited after walking around in front of the Colorado dugout.

The Rockies said X-rays were negative. He was listed as day to day.

Tyler Colvin took over for Gonzalez.

Gonzalez, the team's lone All-Star player last season, is hitting .299 and leads the Rockies with 18 home runs and 52 RBIs. He has been bothered by soreness in his left knee the past week.
