ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Third baseman Alberto Callaspo and the Los Angeles Angels have finalized a two-year contract worth $8,975,000.
The deal announced Tuesday calls for Callaspo to receive $4.1 million this year and $4,875,000 in 2014.
Callaspo hit .252 last year with 10 home runs and 53 RBIs. When arbitration figures were exchanged last month, he had asked for a raise from $3.15 million to $4.7 million and had been offered $3.65 million.
