Rays win One Game Series

SERIES NOTES

The Cleveland Indians clinched the top wild card spot on the final day of the regular season. The Tampa Bay Rays and Texas Rangers faced off in a play-in game Monday to determine who plays Cleveland in the Wild Card Playoff.

David Price threw a complete game, Evan Longoria had a two-run homer among his three hits and the Rays got a 5-2 win over Texas. Even with the return of All-Star slugger Nelson Cruz from his 50-game drug suspension in the Biogenesis case, the Rangers missed a chance to get to the playoffs for the fourth year in a row. The Rays face another do-or-die game Wednesday night at Cleveland.

Tampa Bay won their 2013 season series over Cleveland 4-2. This is the first ever post-season meeting between the Rays and the Indians.
