Happ, Blue Jays try to avoid sweep in Baltimore

With their first AL East title since 1997 now secured the Baltimore Orioles can turn their attention to the best overall record in the league tonight when they try to complete a sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays. Gone For One

Umpire Joe West has been suspended for one game without pay for grabbing the jersey of Philadelphia Phillies closer Jonathan Papelbon. Major League Baseball executive Joe Torre said in a statement Wednesday that West "admitted that there was a better way to handle the situation." Full Story.

Nearly 11 years after Barry Bonds testified before a grand jury investigating the illegal distribution of performance-enhancing drugs, a group of judges will hear arguments Thursday on whether baseball's career home-run leader should have his obstruction of justice conviction thrown out.
