New York, NY (Sports Network) - The National Lacrosse League has announced Player of the Week awards for Week #15, which featured five games this past weekend as teams battle for playoff position down the stretch entering the 2013 NLL regular season finale in Week #16.
Rochester Knighthawks forward Dan Dawson, who is tied for sixth in the NLL with 50 assists and ranks 10th in the NLL with 71 points (21+50), won Offensive Player of the Week after helping the team earn a weekend road split.
Minnesota Swarm transition player Jordan MacIntosh, who ranks second in the league in loose balls (173) and fourth in faceoffs won (219), won his third- straight Transition Player of the Week award and fifth this season by helping his team clinch a playoff berth on the road.
Philadelphia Wings goaltender Brandon Miller, tied for third among NLL goalies with seven wins and tied for fourth in the league with 540 saves, won his second Defensive Player of the Week award in 2013 as his team clinched a spot in the postseason with an overtime win.
Buffalo Bandits transition player Jordan Critch, who posted four points in just his fourth career NLL game, won the Rookie of the Week award by helping his team stay alive in the playoff race with a crucial road win.
Offensive Player of the Week
Dan Dawson, Rochester Knighthawks (2 GP, 5G, 12A, 17 PTS, 4 LB): Dawson recorded 11 points (3+8) and two loose balls in Rochester's 15-14 win at Calgary on Saturday and six points (2+4) and two loose balls in Rochester's 14-10 loss at Edmonton on Sunday.
Transition Player of the Week
Jordan MacIntosh, Minnesota Swarm (5G, 1A, 6 PTS, 12 LB, 1 FT): MacIntosh recorded six points (5+1), 12 loose balls, one forced turnover and went 22- for-31 (71%) on faceoffs in Minnesota's 17-12 win at Colorado on Saturday.
Defensive Player of the Week
Brandon Miller, Philadelphia Wings (1W, 9.00 GAA, .842 SV%): Miller recorded 48 saves on 57 shots in Philadelphia's 10-9 win vs. Toronto on Saturday.
Rookie of the Week
Jordan Critch, Buffalo Bandits (2G, 2A, 4 PTS, 3 LB): Critch recorded four points (2+2) and three loose balls in Buffalo's 15-10 win at Washington on Saturday.
The NLL Player Awards are determined by a weekly vote of the league's general managers and head coaches.
