Evans sets franchise record with 12 points in Roughnecks' win

DENVER - Shawn Evans set a franchise-record with a 12-point performance as the Calgary Roughnecks blasted the Colorado Mammoth 19-12 in National Lacrosse League play Friday.

Evans had four goals and eight assists on a busy night for Calgary's offence.

Jeff Shattler had three goals and five assists, while Dane Dobbie scored four goals and had two assists. Scott Ranger, who surpassed 200 career NLL assists, had three goals and three assists.

Curtis Dickson also had a hat trick, while Daryl Veltman and Geoff Snider chipped in with singles for the Roughnecks (1-2), who scored the first seven goals in the first quarter.

Gavin Prout let Colorado (1-2) with two goals and four assists, while John Grant Jr. (three goals, two assists) and Adam Jones (two goals, three assists) each had five-point performances.

Jamie Lincoln scored twice, while Mat MacLeod, Jordan McBride and Sean Pollock had a goal apiece.
