Matthews has four goals to lead Rush over Stealth

EVERETT, Wash. -- Mark Matthews had four goals and five assists Sunday as the Edmonton Rush defeated the Washington Stealth 18-10 in the National Lacrosse League.

Ryan Ward added three goals and three assists for Edmonton (1-1), while Corey Small had two goals and five assists.

Curtis Knight and Zack Greer each had a goal and three assists, Brett Mydske scored twice, Jeff Cornwall and Jarrett Davis added a goal and an assist.

Jarrett Toll, Chris Corbeil and Jeremy Thompson had the other goals for the Rush, who got 33 saves from Aaron Bold.

Rhys Duch had three goals and two assists for Washington (2-1), while Bob Snider had two goals and an assist.

Dean Hill chipped in with a goal and three assists, Athan Iannucci scored twice and Brett Bucktooth had a goal and an assist.

Mike Grimes had the other goal for the Stealth. Nick Patterson and Neil Tyacke combined to make 30 saves in the loss for Washington.
