PETERBOROUGH, Ont. -- Jordan MacIntosh and John Grant Jr. each scored hat tricks Monday as the Peterborough Lakers defeated the Langley Thunder 14-10 in Game 3 of the Mann Cup.

Peterborough, which exploded for six straight goals in the third period, still trails the best-of-seven senior men's lacrosse championship 2-1.

Game 4 goes Wednesday night.

Shawn Evans added a goal and five assists for Peterborough, while Mike Thompson picked up the win in relief.

Athan Iannucci scored four times and added an assist for Langley, while Lewis Ratcliff added a goal and four assists. Garrett Billings set up five goals for the Thunder.

Tied 7-7 after two periods, Langley scored twice to take the lead in the third before MacIntosh started the six-goal run to help Peterborough get back in the series.

Langley scored on three of its first seven shots to chase starting goalie Tyler Carlson. But Thompson, who didn't dress for the first two games of the series, came off the bench to stop 23-of-30 shots and earn the win.

Langley led after the first period for the first time in the series, heading to intermission up 4-3.

Peterborough took the lead in the second, but Iannucci buried a pair of power-play goals in the final two and a half minutes as the teams started to the third tied 7-7.
