JAKARTA, Indonesia -- Ernie Els had an eye on his first title of the year after shooting 4-under-par 68 to close within one stroke of Indonesian Masters leader Daisuke Kataoka of Japan on Saturday.
Els closed his third round with his fifth birdie, to tie for second with Bernd Wiesberger (67) of Austria at 10-under 204 at Royale Jakarta.
Kataoka birdied his last two holes to card a round-best score of 66, and lead an Asian Tour event for the first time since giving up baseball to become a golf pro in 2007.
Trailing in fourth was Canadian Richard T. Lee (67), followed by Taiwan's Hung Chien-yao at 8 under.
Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand, who led by two strokes overnight, slipped into a five way tie for sixth with a 3-over 75.
