OTTAWA -- Canadian figure skater Kevin Reynolds withdrew from the Cup of China figure skating competition Wednesday due to equipment issues.
He has been struggling with skate problems since the start of the season. Reynolds has been unable to get the boots to fit properly and it has resulted in missed training time, Skate Canada said in a release.
The 23-year-old native of North Vancouver, B.C., was the lone Canadian entry at the Nov. 1-3 ISU Grand Prix event in Beijing.
Reynolds is coming off a breakout season. He won the Four Continents event in Japan and was fifth at the 2013 world championships.
