MOSCOW -- The Russian Figure Skating Federation says Julia Lipnitskaia has withdrawn from the Grand Prix Final due to injury.

Lipnitskaia had qualified to be one of six skaters in the women's event by winning silver at the Cup of China and bronze at the Trophee Eric Bompard.

Christina Gao of the United States is the highest-ranked of three substitutes named for the competition Dec. 6-9 in Sochi, Russia.

The Federation said in a statement Friday that Lipnitskaia suffered a mild concussion when she fell during practice on Wednesday.
